25.02.2010 - Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert surrounded by bodyguards arrives at the opening of the corruption trial against him at the Jerusalem District Court.
Olmert’s trial involves several affairs, including the Rishon Tours case, contributions and payments to Olmert from or through the mediation of New York businessman Morris Talansky, Olmert’s intervention in grant applications to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Investment Center by businessmen represented by his close friend, attorney Uri Messer,and others.
It is the first trial in Israeli history against a former prime minister.
